Designated courses
Related Links
The Welsh Government is responsible for administering and assessing specific designation applications. Decisions on specific designation are made at the discretion of the Welsh Government.
Please note that specific designation only applies to eligible students who meet the residence criteria for Wales. Institutions wishing to apply for courses to be designated for eligible student's ordinary resident in Scotland, Northern Ireland or England, the institutions should apply separately to either the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS), the Department for Education and Learning in Northern Ireland or Department for Business Innovation & Skills in England.

If you wish to submit a request for course designation, or obtain details of the current specific designation process and criteria, please contact studentfinancedivision@Wales.gsi.gov.uk.
Terms of use
Although all courses on the list met the designation criteria at the time of application, it is the responsibility of the delivering institutions to notify the Welsh Government of changes or withdrawals where courses have been specifically designated.
