Induction for Newly Qualified Teachers in Wales (revised August 2005)

This guidance summarises the arrangements for the completion of a period of Induction by newly qualified teachers if they wish to work in a maintained school or non-maintained special school in Wales. It incorporates the End of Induction Standard (Annex A) against which newly qualified teachers are assessed, and gives guidance on how Headteachers, Induction Tutors and other school staff should support, monitor and assess newly qualified teachers during their first year of teaching by breaking down the roles and responsibilities of all those involved in the Induction process.
