As part of our Quality and Effectiveness Framework, we are introducing new requirements for post-16 learning providers to establish formal learner involvement strategies. Learner involvement will be central to our Quality and Effectiveness Framework (QEF), and to Estyn’s new Common Inspection Framework from autumn 2010.

This guidance is intended to help providers evaluate their current approaches to learner involvement. It will identify where they need to do more, learn from best practice, and use this to develop a formal strategy.

We will be looking at how providers place learners at the heart of their planning, decision-making and quality assurance processes, and seeking evidence of the impact these processes have on learners’ experiences.
