Sixth Form Funding

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the grant allocations for post-16 provision in schools and Community Learning provision for the period 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2007. The letter also provides details of the approach used to calculate the allocations. The Welsh Assembly Government will announce the conditions of grant in the New Year, but Local Education Authorities (LEAs) should be aware that funding for Community Learning and for Special Schools and Out of County Placements will be ring fenced.
 
In January, a further letter will be issued, detailing suggested allocations to be allocated to individual schools. That communication will be copied to school head teachers.
