Flintshire
The Welsh Assembly Government’s role in school organisation issues is mainly to set out the policy framework. The prime responsibility for the provision of suitable education within an area rests with Local Education Authorities.
They must keep their pattern of provision under regular review. If as a result an LEA concludes there is a need to reorganise - to establish a new school, close an existing school or make a prescribed alteration to a school - it must comply with well established statutory procedures.
You can locate proposals brought forward from the formation of the Assembly in July 1999 to the present below:
27/02/13
Proposal: Discontinue both schools and establish a new 270 plus nursery place community school for boys and girls aged 3-11, at the site of the existing Taliesin Junior School.
27/02/13
Proposal: Discontinue both schools and establish a new Church in Wales voluntary aided school and nursery for boys and girls aged 3-11, at the existing school sites, using the existing buildings.
24/02/12
Proposal: To make a prescribed alteration to close the Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) Resource Class.
26/05/11
Proposal: Make a prescribed alteration by changing the category of the school from voluntary controlled to voluntary aided.
10/09/10
