A PLC is a group of practitioners working together using a structured process of enquiry to focus on a specific area of their teaching to improve learner outcomes and so raise school standards.

Learning Wales is a web-based resource designed to improve standards in schools across Wales.

As part of Welsh Government’s commitment to improve standards, Learning Wales seeks to meet the needs of educational practitioners.
All of the resources available on the website have been quality assured by an expert panel of educational practitioners and professionals. Additional resources will be quality assured and uploaded to relevant sections as the site develops through Beta.

There are currently seven areas (Literacy, Numeracy and Poverty, Behaviour and attendance, Additional needs and inclusion, Reflective practice and action enquiry and Leadership) available to view containing a combination of downloadable materials, links and a bibliography for further reading. Throughout the Beta period of the website, we will unveil new areas in a phased approach. Here are some dates for your diary:

  • Child and adolescent development 0-19 will be online in February 2013, and
  • Curriculum, assessment and well-being will be online in May 2013.
