Software Development Forum (SDF)
The Software Development Forum (SDF) was formed in December 2002 to provide a forum for discussion between the National Assembly for Wales, suppliers of Management Information Software to the education sector in Wales and other stakeholder groups such as the National Council-ELWa, ACCAC, LEAs and software user groups.
Meetings of the SDF are planned around the timetable of specification and software releases on an annual cycle; a copy of the current timetable can be accessed here. The main purpose of the meetings is to ensure that everyone involved in the specification and development of school software systems is aware of the requirements of the Assembly and its partner organisations in terms of development of electronic data collections from schools. By providing a forum for open discussion it is envisaged that smoother implementation of new and revised electronic collections can be achieved.
If your company is interested in being represented at SDF meetings, and wish to be included in mailing of specification documents, please email IMS@wales.gsi.gov.uk.
