This strategy explains how we will tackle the challenges facing our environment over the next 20 years.

Our distinctive Welsh environment is one of our most valuable assets. It is important in its own right and for the range of vital services it provides us with.

To build a sustainable future for Wales we need to manage the pressures we place on our environment more effectively and to address new challenges like climate change.

The Environment Strategy for Wales recognises the importance of our environment and explains how we will tackle the challenges facing it over the next 20 years.

It sets out our vision that:

By 2026, we want to see our distinctive Welsh environment thriving and contributing to the economic and social wellbeing and health of all of the people of Wales.
