Summary of project

The main aims of the project are:

  • To improve access to services through the provision of information, guidance and support to parents on the wide range of services available to meet their needs and the needs of their children.
  • To enable unemployed parents to access training and employment opportunities through the provision of free/subsidised childcare, transport costs and free training.
  • To enhance community infrastructure by increasing the number of childcare places and the number of childcare settings available locally through the provision of free training for anyone interested in working in the childcare sector.
  • To promote the health and well-being of parents, children and young people through the provision of a wide range of health information and by taking families out of poverty.

The project will provide:

  • An outreach information service to parents and carers in rural areas
  • Improved access to information, support and guidance to parents and carers on all aspects of childcare and children’s services in Wrexham County Borough to improve the take-up of services locally and countywide.
  • Support to parents to enable them to access training and employment opportunities through the provision of free/subsidised childcare, transport and training costs.
