Summary of project

The project aims to increase the sustainability of local rural businesses by assisting them in maximising their ICT usage and capabilities. This includes promoting the use of ICT to rural businesses, increasing the uptake of ICT in rural areas, and assisting businesses and groups to embed and utilise as much ICT as possible within their business.

The project will deliver the service in the most flexible way possible so as not to exclude any groups from the service. In order to do this, it is envisaged that the following will be offered:-

  • Awareness raising events targeted at specific groups or technologies to advise on any IT or communication based topics.
  • Involvement in partnership activities with organisations such as DE&T
  • Involvement in pre and post start courses for businesses
  • Provision of ICT surgeries
  • Provision of one to one advice and support
  • All advice will be impartial and free of charge and we will signpost to the relevant organisations. The project would aim to provide an individual business with a maximum of 4 hours assistance with each enquiry.
