Summary of project

The project will, through the employment of a part time administrator, support local voluntary groups in rural areas of Wrexham in applying for funds to support delivery of community led projects of direct benefit to the residents of rural Wrexham.

Key Funds allow organisations to get financial support for activities in the region's areas of greatest need. Key Funds recognise that organisations new to European Funds, like community and voluntary groups, may not have the capacity or resources to apply directly to main Funding Programmes. Key Fund would make awards of up to 80% of project costs, up to a maximum of £10,000. This simplifies procedures for applicants, whilst observing all the appropriate safeguards.

With emphasis on a grass-roots approach, on active citizenship, and on the development of social economy initiatives, resources are available to support local organisations and build capacity within communities.
