The policy’s purpose is to encourage a wider behavioural change where consumers re-use bags by introducing a levy on single-use carrier bags through regulations aiming at substantially reducing the amount of single-use carrier bags.
The outcome would help towards combating climate change by increasing environmental awareness, and to improve local environment quality by reducing litter from single-use carrier bags.
