The Health Protection Regulations are designed to protect public health from infectious disease or contamination by chemicals or radiation.

The Health Protection Regulations, to be made under the powers in the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984, will complement the primary legislation and complete the process of modernising domestic health protection powers in Wales.

The three sets of regulations are the Health Protection (Notification) (Wales) Regulations 2010, the Health Protection (Part 2A Orders) (Wales) Regulations 2010 and the Health Protection (Local Authority Powers) (Wales) Regulations 2010.
