The action plan will support people to lead healthier lifestyles and raise awareness of the risk factors for stroke.
Strokes are the leading cause of adult disability in Wales and the third most common cause of death.

Although stroke is a disease that mostly affects older people, it can affect people of any age.

The aim of the action plan is to reduce the number of cases of stroke and the number of stroke related deaths.  It will end in March 2012.
