Guidance on the interpretation of nutrition legislation, plus notification forms.

From 1 October 2010, responsibility for nutrition policy in Wales and England transferred from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to the respective health departments:

  • Department of Health in England; and
  • Health Improvement Division, Welsh Government

These guidance documents are intended to help food businesses comply with regulations relating to:

  • nutrition & health claims;
  • food supplements;
  • fortified foods; and
  • the notification of foods for particular nutritional uses, medical foods and infant formula.

These forms may be used as a means of notifying the Welsh Government of foods intended for particular nutritional uses, medical foods and infant formula.
