Swine flu
You can read the latest information about the situation in Wales on these pages, including weekly updates.
The majority of swine flu cases in Wales have been mild; though severe for a small minority.
The second pandemic wave of swine flu to hit Wales is now over, with evidence showing only limited circulation in some parts of the country.
At the end of March we stopped vaccinating healthy children aged from 6 months up to 5 years of age.
However, the vaccine is still available to those in high risk groups (including pregnant women and front line health and social care workers) and travellers to the southern hemisphere.
Vaccination of vulnerable groups is the most effective tool we have in preventing swine flu now or if it returns later in the year. We urge people identified as being at risk to take up the offer of vaccination.
The UK swine flu information line closed on 31 March. If you have concerns about swine flu you can contact your GP, visit the NHS Direct Wales website (external link) or call them on 0845 46 47.
