All establishments that serve or sell food in Wales will now be required to display new food hygiene ratings provided following a new law introduced by the Welsh Government.
The Sunbeds (Regulation) Act 2010 (Wales) Regulations 2011 came into force on Monday 31 October 2011 adding further controls on sunbed use in Wales.
The plan sets out four regional priority goals.

The Welsh Government develops policy to help respond to environmental threats and hazards to human health including chemicals and radiation.

Climate Change and Health

The consequential impacts of climate change represent a significant and emerging threat to public health and wellbeing in Wales. 


A heatwave plan has been developed for Wales that contains guidance for the health and social care sector on protecting vulnerable people from the effects of heat.

Radiation and Health

The Welsh Government wants to reduce the risks to health from exposure to ionising radiation and non-ionising radiation.

This could include radon gas, electromagnetic fields, sunlight (UV radiation), artificial tanning devices and radiofrequencies.

Carbon monoxide

Carbon monoxide in the home is responsible for a considerable number of deaths each year and for many more cases of sub-lethal poisonings.
