Final report on the Community Housing Cymru Group governance training

This report describes the key aims and outcomes of the governance training undertaken by the Community Housing Cymru Group (CHC).
The Social Housing Management Grant programme (SHMG) is designed to help social landlords achieve high standards of housing management.

The programme supports projects:

  • To pilot innovative management policies and schemes
  • To develop housing management good practice
  • To help the implementation of new housing management policies.

The Assembly Government uses this grant programme to fund organisations and projects that:

  • Facilitate and encourage improvements in the running of social housing management and services; and/or 
  • Provide education and training in housing management.

The aim of funding projects through the Social Housing Management Grant Programme is for all of Wales' social housing to reach high quality standards both in terms of condition and management.

Reaching high standards of management requires continued support for the innovation that Wales' social landlords have shown in the management of their stock and their actions to regenerate disadvantaged communities.

Social Housing Management Grant project funding promotes the generation of good practice that is capable of being copied across the Welsh housing sector.
