The aim of this evaluation was to measure the impact of the All Wales School Liaison Core Programme on children and young people.

The Welsh Assembly Government and the four Welsh Police Forces jointly fund the All Wales Schools Core Liaison Programme (AWSLCP) which currently operates in 97% of primary and secondary schools in Wales.

The partnership between schools and the police provides a positive strategy to schools so that all pupils have opportunities to enhance their knowledge, understanding, behaviour, attitudes and skills regarding:

  • Substance misuse, including alcohol
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Personal safety

An evaluation to measure the impact of the AWSLCP on Children and Young People was undertaken in December 2007 by Markit Training and Consultancy Ltd.
