Caerphilly Safeguarding Children Board (CSCB)

CSCB has the lead strategic role in ensuring children and young people in Caerphilly Borough are protected from abuse, neglect and exploitation and live in an environment that promotes their well being and life chances. Drug and Alcohol Issues

Drugaid Wales

Drugaid operates within the Caerphilly Borough offering a wide range of services and different approaches to support people misusing drugs or alcohol to change.  Services include; long or short term one to one support, brief interventions, harm reduction information and resources, access to substitute prescribing, counselling services, diversionary activities, open access sessions, complementary therapies, group work programmes, relapse prevention, outreach, peer support and service user involvement.  

Gwent Council on Alcohol and Drug Misuse (GCADM)

GCADM offer three services in the Caerphilly area to support people with issues around alcohol and drug misuse.  GAP (Gwent Alcohol Project) offers support and counselling around alcohol misuse.  GAP also has a specialist counsellor to work with people experiencing domestic abuse alongside substance misuse issues.  DAFS (Drug Alcohol Family Support) offers support to people who are family members of an alcohol and/or substance misuser. Fusion is a project specialising in support around alcohol and substance misuse for children and young people.

Our social services department works with families, adults, children and young people to provide services that support them to live independent lives care and look after them if they are vulnerable protect them from harm. 

Gofal Wales

Gofal is a mental health charity which offers a wide range of support services within Caerphilly Borough. These services include family support (support to families where one parent or a person looking after children is experiencing mental ill health or where circumstances are affecting their mental health), housing support and advice (provide information, advice and short term support to people who have experience of mental ill health and help them to resolve their housing issues), support/shared housing, and tenancy/floating support.

Llamau is a homeless charity, delivering services to vulnerable, socially excluded homeless and potentially homeless young people and women in South Wales. 

Caerphilly Housing

Advice and information on the options for preventing homelessness, and how we can help if you lose or are threatened with losing your home. We regularly maintain a list of council and private properties available for rent. 

Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor

Works with high risk clients to increase their safety.  The IDVA can give advice on a wide range of issues and offer support and advocacy to victims using the criminal justice system and civil court system to address domestic abuse.

Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership (SCCSP)

SCCSP provide information and support for local residents in relation to community safety.  Their website includes information about Domestic Abuse, Caerphilly Domestic Abuse Forum and the Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor.

Safer Caerphilly Multi Agency Centre (MAC)

A one-stop-shop for victims of domestic abuse and their families, and is there to offer help and support. The centre provides professional support from a range of agencies, all under one roof.

Women’s Services

Caerphilly Women's Aid (CWA) 

CWA provides refuge provision for women and children experiencing domestic abuse and this can be accessed 24 hours by telephoning 029 2086 0255.  They also provide a range of outreach services for victims of domestic abuse including adult and children floating support, specialist children's therapist, specialist support with building confidence and getting back into education and employment, a survivors group and the Freedom Programme.
