Around 30 people die each year in Wales and around 800 are injured as a result of fire.

We want to reduce these numbers and fire safety plays a crucial part in achieving this.

Promoting fire safety means educating people about how to avoid and respond to fire. It means looking at ways our environment can be designed to reduce the likelihood and impact of fire. Firebrake Wales is working with us and the Welsh Fire and Rescue Services to do these things. It is a charitable organisation that aims to reduce the number of deaths and injuries through fire-related incidents by:

  • public education
  • promotional activity
  • research.
