Substance Misuse Strategy Implementation Board




Members of the Board include Welsh Government senior officials from all relevant policy areas, as well as external stakeholders. External membership is drawn from a wide variety of organisations to reflect the diversity of the substance misuse agenda.

The main aims of the Board are to:

  • Oversee, at a national level, the delivery of the Substance Misuse Strategy for Wales 2008-2018 - Working Together To Reduce Harm;
  • Ensure that the Strategy is reviewed and ‘refreshed’ in the light of emerging developments or changes in patterns of substance misuse; and
  • Ensure links are established / maintained with relevant groups.
