This report sets out recommendations following the completion of ‘Planning for Renewable and Low Carbon Energy – A Toolkit for Planners’ and ‘Planning for Renewable and Low Carbon Energy – A Toolkit for Planners, Pembrokeshire Pilot Study’.

This Recommendations report is part of a set of three documents.

The first document is the Planning for Renewable and Low Carbon Energy – A Toolkit for Planners (“the Toolkit”). This provides guidance to local authorities on how to prepare a Renewable Energy Assessment.

The second document is the Pembrokeshire County Council pilot study of the Toolkit.

This recommendations report covers:

  • How the initial work of the policy and literature review and the steering group discussions were informed and shaped the toolkit;
  • The key learning points from the pilot study;
  • The feedback from the participants in the study; and
  • Recommendations to the Assembly Government for actions and further work required to support the effective application of the toolkit
