This guidance sets out the revised Joint Housing Land Availability Study process for local planning authorities.

A review of the process was carried out in 2010/11 (available on the right). This revised process is based on its recommendations.

Technical Advice Note (TAN) 1, Joint Housing Land Availability Studies, (available on the right) is still the main advice and guidance for the Studies. However, this revised process changes some of the guidance in TAN 1 and these issues are also addressed in this Guidance Note.
