Wales: Some International Comparisons

This publication sets indicators of health, education and other aspects of life alongside figures for other countries.
To mark World Statistics Day on 20/10/2010 this publication provides a brief overview of some selected international comparisons drawing on data published by international organisations such as OECD and Eurostat.

It sets indicators of health, education and other aspects of life in Wales alongside figures for other countries to provide a statistical picture of how Wales compares in these areas. It is hoped that this will provide a stimulus for debate and discussion about Wales, and encourage further work to aid our understanding of Wales in an international context.

The statistics were collated for use within the Welsh Assembly Government and are published here to help maximise their use.

The latest available data have been used as far as possible, but more recent data may have become available since this document was compiled.

The publication is not classified as National Statistics.
