A Statistical Bulletin presenting the latest statistics from the 2009-10 pilot for the National Survey for Wales, produced by the Welsh Assembly Government, was released on 24 February 2011 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

Some initial headline results from the 2009-10 pilot survey were published in November 2010, this bulletin includes more detailed information. A key aim of producing this bulletin is to encourage full use of the survey data by others.  The full survey dataset, along with detailed supporting technical documentation, will shortly be accessible via the UK Data Archive.

This release contains only a selection of results available on the wide range of topics that the survey covers. The topics included in the survey are:

  • the Welsh Assembly Government
  • well-being and life satisfaction
  • financial commitments
  • standard of accommodation
  • neighbourhood and local area
  • environment
  • volunteering
  • discrimination

To help analyse results on these topics, questions were also asked on tenure, age, sex, ethnicity, religion, household composition, income and employment.
