Statistics on the Index of Hotels and Restaurants include data for Wales and the UK for the period up to Quarter 4 2007. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 14 February 2008.

Summary

• The Index of Hotels & Restaurants for Wales for the latest four quarters fell by 8.7 per cent compared with the previous four quarters. The UK index rose by 4.0 per cent over the same period.
• Accommodation sector output for the latest four quarters was 5.3 per cent lower than the previous four quarters.
• Restaurants & Catering sector output for the latest four quarters was 13.4 per cent lower than the previous four quarters.
• Pubs & Clubs sector output for the latest four quarters was 6.6 per cent lower than the previous four quarters.
