Statistics on GP Referrals received at Welsh NHS Trusts for a first out-patient appointment include data for Wales for the period April 2008 to April 2009. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 6 May 2009.

The key points from the latest release are:

• The number of GP Referrals for a first out-patient appointment received at Welsh NHS Trusts was 60,940 in April 2009
• This is a 2.1% increase compared to April 2008 and a 6.6% decrease compared to March 2009

All figures relating to April 2009 are provisional.
