Time Spent in NHS Accident and Emergency Departments, June 2009

Statistics on Time Spent in NHS Wales Accident and Emergency Departments include data for Wales for the period beginning June 2008 through to June 2009. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 18 June 2009.

The key points from the latest release are:

• 92.0 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points compared with May.
• 99.2 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, exactly the same as May.

All figures relating to June 2009 are provisional.
