The latest provisional statistics on referral to treatment times produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 13th August 2009 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority Website The key points from the latest release are:

  • For patients admitted to hospital for treatment in June 2009, 87% had waited less than 26 weeks from referral to treatment and 93% had waited less than 32 weeks from referral to treatment.
  • For patients receiving hospital treatment in June 2009 (not requiring admission to hospital), 92% had waited less than 26 weeks from referral to treatment and 94% had waited less than 32 weeks from referral to treatment.
  • For Cardiac referral to treatment, 68 patients who were treated in June 2009 had waited more than 26 weeks from referral to treatment (2.1%). There were 10 patients who had waited over 32 weeks for cardiac treatment.
