Statistics on GP Referrals received at Welsh NHS Trusts for a first out-patient appointment include data for Wales for the period September 2008 to September 2009. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 7 October 2009.

The key points from the latest release are:

• The number of GP Referrals for a first out-patient appointment received at Welsh NHS Trusts was 62,061 in September 2009
• This is a 3.7% increase compared to September 2008 and a 11.3% increase compared to August 2009

All figures relating to September 2009 are provisional.
