Statistics on GP Referrals received at Welsh Local Health Boards for a first out-patient appointment include data for Wales for the period October 2008 to October 2009. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 4 November 2009.

The key points from the latest release are:

• The number of GP Referrals for a first out-patient appointment received at Welsh Local Health Boards was 64,068 in October 2009
• This is a 1.1% increase compared to October 2008 and a 3.2% increase compared to September 2009, at an all Wales level.

All figures relating to October 2009 are provisional.
