NHS Waiting Times: At End January 2010 - Postponed

The Statistical Release ‘NHS Waiting Times: At End January 2010’ which was due to be published on Wednesday 24 February 2010 has been postponed due to concerns over the quality of the data.

The data will be further validated by the local health boards and the release will be published on Thursday 11 March together with the information on referral to treatment times.

The main target about time to treatment for the NHS in Wales is that by December 2009, no patient will have a referral to treatment time which is longer than 26 weeks. As targets for referral to treatment replace earlier targets for waits for admission and outpatient appointments there will be a consultation on a proposal to stop this  statistical data series.  The consultation document will be issued shortly.
