Time Spent in NHS Accident and Emergency Departments, March 2010

Statistics on Time Spent in NHS Wales Accident and Emergency Departments include data for Wales for the period beginning March 2009 through to March 2010. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 18th March 2010.

The key points from the latest release are:

• 85.2 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared with February.
• 96.3 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.2 percentage points compared with February.

All figures relating to March 2010 are provisional.
