The latest National Statistics on registers of people with disabilities, produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 27 October 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority Website Statistics on disability registers include data for Wales at 31 March 2010. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 28 October 2009.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • There were 14,800 people on registers of people with learning disabilities.
  • There were 74,800 people on registers of people with physical or sensory disabilities. Of these, 46,500 were registered as having a physical disability only.
