Time Spent in NHS Accident and Emergency Departments, February 2011

Statistics on Time Spent in NHS Wales Accident and Emergency Departments include data for Wales for the period beginning February 2010 through to February 2011. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 24th February 2011.

The key points from the latest release are:

• 85.9 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours in All Hospital Emergency Care facilities from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.3 of a percentage point compared with January 2011.
• 95.8 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours in All Hospital Emergency Care facilities from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.2 of a percentage point compared with January 2011.
• 83.6 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.3 of a percentage point compared with January 2011.
• 95.0 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.2 of a percentage point compared with January 2011.

All figures relating to February 2011 are provisional.
