The latest statistics on Time Spent in Accident and Emergency Departments produced by the Welsh Government were released on 21 July 2011 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

Statistics on Time Spent in NHS Wales Accident and Emergency Departments include data for Wales for the period beginning June 2010 through to June 2011. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 23 June 2011.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • 89.5 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours in All Hospital Emergency Care facilities from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.4 of a percentage point compared with May 2011.
  • 97.8 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours in All Hospital Emergency Care facilities from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.2 of a percentage point compared with May 2011.

All figures relating to June 2011 are provisional.
