The second quarterly publication of the numbers of regulated settings and places in Wales were released on 23 November 2011 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

The statistics on regulated settings and places are at local authority level by setting type and include data for Wales at quarterly intervals, from 31 March 2009 to 30 September 2011.

The information is published in line with protocols on publishing official statistics and will be available on StatsWales.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • 6,295 service settings were regulated by CSSIW at 30 September 2011, an increase of 45 (less than one percent) from 6,250 service settings at 30 June 2011.
  • 105,670 places were registered with CSSIW at 30 September 2011, a small increase of 905 places since the end of previous quarter.
