NHS GP Referrals for First Out-patient Appointments, January 2012

Statistics on GP Referrals received at Welsh Local Health Boards for a first outpatient appointment include data for Wales for the period January 2011 to January 2012. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 1 February 2012.

The key points from the latest release are:

• The number of GP referrals for a first outpatient appointment received at a Welsh Local Health Board was 64,485 in January 2012;
• This is a 15.5% increase compared with January 2011 and a 13.4% increase compared with December 2011, at an all Wales level.

All figures relating to January 2012 are provisional.
