The latest National Statistics on the ambulance service in Wales produced by the Welsh Government were released on 25 July 2012 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority website Statistics on ambulance services in Wales include data for June 2012. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 27 June 2012.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • there were more than 33,500 emergency calls, and of these, just over 13,400 were Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls; and
  • 64.5% (8,477) emergency responses to Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls arrived at the scene within 8 minutes, below the all-Wales target of 65%.
