Statistics on ambulance services in Wales include data for September 2012. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 26 September 2012.

The key points from the latest release are:

• there were more than 33,700 emergency calls, nearly 2% lower than in August 2012; of these, more than 13,400 were Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls; and
• 64.2% (8,414) emergency responses to Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls arrived at the scene within 8 minutes, below the all-Wales target of 65% for the fourth successive month.
