Local Authority Registers of People with Disabilities, 31 March 2012

Statistics on disability registers include data for Wales at 31 March 2012. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 26 October 2011.

The key points from the latest release are:

• There were 14,701 people on registers of people with learning disabilities, of whom 12,599 (86 per cent) were living in community placements and 2,102 (14 per cent) were in residential establishments.
• There were 73,791 people on registers of people with physical or sensory disabilities. Of these, 44,695 were registered as having a physical disability only.
