The latest National Statistics on waiting times for specified diagnostic and therapy services (see release for details of services included) for the NHS in Wales produced by the Welsh Government were released on 10 January 2013 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority website Statistics on NHS Wales Diagnostic & Therapy Services waiting times include data for all patients, irrespective of their area of residence, waiting for specified diagnostic & therapy services at Welsh Local Health Boards for the period up to the end of November 2012. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 13 December 2012.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • The number of people waiting more than 8 weeks for specified diagnostic services rose over the month from 14,628 to 15,243.
  • The number of people waiting more than 14 weeks for specified therapy services fell over the month from 3,644 to 3,057.
