The latest National Statistics produced by the Welsh Government were released on 30 January 2013 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority website Statistics include data for December 2012. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 27 December 2012.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • there were more than 38,100 emergency calls, 12% more than in November 2012; of these, almost 15,600 were Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls
  • 56.1% (8,522) emergency responses to Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls arrived at the scene within 8 minutes, below the all-Wales target of 65% for the seventh successive month
