Social Housing Rents and Rent Arrears, 31 March 2010 - Postponed

The postponement is due, primarily, to the late receipt of data returns from some of the local authority and registered social landlord data providers, some of which are still outstanding, to allow sufficient time to validate and quality assure the data once it has been received. The lateness of the returns has been influenced in part by the large scale voluntary transfer of stock from some local authorities to registered social landlords during the data collection period.

This statistical release presents information on the following:

• the average weekly rents for wholly rented local authority and Registered Social Landlord dwellings set at the beginning of April 2010, for the financial year 2010-11; and
• information on the level of social housing rent arrears as at 31 March 2010.
