Co-ordinated Release of Population and Migration Outputs, August 2012

The Office for National Statistics, the Home Office, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the National Records of Scotland (NRS) have today simultaneously published a range of demographic data.

UK Statistics Authority website This forms part of a series of co-ordinated releases of population and migration data, and is part of a ‘coherent reporting’ programme for demographic statistics.

Information and data published jointly today include:

  • Migration Statistics Quarterly Report, August 2012. This summarises the different quarterly datasets and provides key messages from the latest data.

Further information and data published today by the ONS include:

  • Provisional Long-Term International Migration (LTIM), year ending December 2011 (UK level).
  • Provisional International Passenger Survey estimates of long-term international migration, year ending December, 2011 (UK level).
  • Population by country of birth and nationality from the Annual Population Survey, January 2011 to December 2011 (to local authority level).
  • Local area migration indicators.
  • Parents’ country of birth, England and Wales, 2011.
  • International Migration Timeline (this is a new part of ONS’ Data Visualisation suite).

Users of this information should note that quarterly estimates of internal migration based on NHSCR data are no longer published. Internal migration estimates are now based on PRDS data and published on an annual basis.
