The latest National Statistics on Examination Results produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 30 November 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority Website Statistics on Examination Results include data for Wales for the period 2000/01 to 2009/10.  The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 30 September 2010.

The key points from the latest release are:

15 year olds

  • 64 per cent achieved the Level 2 threshold, 3 percentage points higher than in 2008/09;
  • The average wider points score was 394, 15 points higher than in 2008/09.

17 year olds

  • 95 per cent of those entering a volume equivalent to 2 A levels achieved the Level 3 threshold, 1 percentage point lower than in 2008/09.
