Police Recorded Road Casualties, Quarter 2 2010 (provisional)

The latest National Statistics on ‘Police Recorded Road Casualties in Wales: Quarterly Provisional Estimates 2nd Quarter 2010’, produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were published on 4th November 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority Website Provisional estimates show that during the June quarter 2010, in Wales:

  • 25 road casualties were reported as killed
  • 294 were reported as seriously injured, and
  • 2,167 as slightly injured

Comparing the most recent 12 month period, that is July 2009 to June 2010, with the previous 12 month period, July 2008 to June 2009, shows:

  • All road casualties were down by 6 per cent; and within this total
  • The numbers killed were 23 per cent lower
  • Seriously injured were 7 per cent lower
  • Slightly injured were 5 per cent lower
