The latest statistics on Monitoring the National Transport Plan, as compiled by the Welsh Assembly Government, were released on 29 March 2011 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority Website These statistics cover a wide range of transport-related data for Wales (with some comparison figures for other parts of Great Britain) for the most recent period. This is a baseline report which updates and replaces the interim monitoring report published in March 2010.

This statistical bulletin is a complete baseline monitoring report which will be followed by the publication of the indicators and the data it contains online, where it will be regularly updated as and when data is collected and analysed.

The National Transport Plan delivers the aims and outcomes of the Wales Transport Strategy, which is the key long term transport policy document of the Welsh Assembly Government. The set of statistical indicators set out in this Statistical Bulletin are derived from those originally outlined in the Wales Transport Strategy.

The National Transport Plan

The Wales Transport Strategy established the framework for the creation of an integrated transport system to deliver One Wales.  The National Transport Plan takes forward the process of delivering integration.
