Background

The Programme contributes to the national monitoring of service provision and targets in a devolved United Kingdom, while also providing data locally to aid in service planning and evaluation of oral health strategies and plans.

In Wales the programme is managed by the Welsh Oral Health Information Unit, Cardiff University in collaboration with the National Public Health Service for Wales and the Welsh Government. Surveys of 5 year olds and of 12 years are carried out every 4 years.

Frequency: Regular surveys of 5 and 12 year olds carried out every 4 years.
